I’m always chuffed to be sharing swatches from UK brands, with the amount of postage hassles we have there’s often a feeling of being a little bit cut off from the rest of the world so seeing home-grown brands doing good stuff. The Lacquer Lab is also 4-free, so no toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde or Camphor – bonus! Today I’ve got a set of three polishes on a bit of a Royal theme.
‘Red Planet’ is a brilliant vampy, blue-based red creme. I love reds, but I wasn’t expecting to love this on my nails quite this much, it felt luxurious and kind of sexy, despite my nails not being at their longest (a series of tragic breaks lately have been killing me). Two coats, super glossy.
Oh I do love a one coater dark blue, again, quite a basic polish but a glorious formula and I can’t argue with a smooth, glossy one-coater and I can see this getting a lot of nail art use.
I’m not generally one for mixed glitter toppers, but this is fairly versatile and I did like fishing the hearts out for a bit of added cuteness – they weren’t even hard to find like some glitters where you waste half a bottle just trying to find the cool bits. Application of the polish involved a little bit of placement but it wasn’t too sparse. Not really my thing, but definitely well suited to the base colours and pretty patriotic looking to boot!
Overall I’m pretty impressed with my first try of The Lacquer Lab, the formula is great and coverage was lovely and even, definitely recommend!
