Pretty Serious Museum of Naileontology

The latest collection from Pretty Serious is one that I hope (and know) will grow, but it starts with these three beauties. The Museum of Naileontology might not be a tourist attraction you’re familiar with, primarily because this collection is the brainchild of Kaz Harris, Owner of Pretty Serious and blogger at Pretty Random, a vintage nail blog. Pretty Serious has always been inspired by the brands that shook the nail world back in the 90’s with edgy never before seen shades and in your face marketing campaigns and our brand new Naileontology line is an extension of her obsession with all things discontinued! Kaz has dug deep into her stash of thousands and selected three of her favourite long gone shades to restyle with Pretty Serious flair.

‘Eye of Copernicus’ is an inky blue base with silver microglitter flecks and it’s like a magical sky full of stars. This was two coats, and utter deliciousness.

‘The Dragon’s Curse’ is a wonderfully fresh minty green with an insane gold shimmer. It’s smooth and applies like a dream and considering I don’t like mint or gold I can’t get over how much I love this one.

The final from this trio is ‘Khepri’s Amulet’ which like the scarab god it is named after has an amazing green/gold shift. The third image is a bit rubbish but it comes a little closer to showing the intensity of the shift that you’ll see in real life.

Formula wise they’re all solid 2 coaters and great to work with, I can’t really pick any fault other than the ever ever so slight brush strokes in Khepri’s Amulet, which I’ve seen far worse in far poorer shifting greens. If you have even the slightest interest in vintage nail polish these should definitely grab your attention and make valuable additions to a collection. Pretty Serious have genuinely made some delightful polishes inspired by shades that most lacquerheads would give their first born child for a sniff of.
