Pretty Serious ‘Christmas Without Snow’
I think I’ve made it quite clear by now that I love Pretty Serious Cosmetics polishes. I really really really love Pretty Serious. When the Christmas Without Snow collection was released I was there waiting, clicking refresh like a mad woman. It paid off though because mine was the second order, which earned me one of the ten Golden Tickets! If you didn’t hear about those, Pretty Serious created a limited edition (ten bottles only!) gold polish that would be added as a surprise to ten of the first 100 orders that included polishes form the Christmas Without Snow collection. As I ordered the full set AND got the Golden Ticket I now have a perfect 7 polish set! So chuffed you wouldn’t believe!
‘Blue Gums on Boxing Day’ isn’t an ordinary green. The blue shimmer is gorgeous but for me it’s the pigmentation of the jelly that I love. It needs a few coats to build up on it’s own, but it works under and over other polishes so beautifully. Which might explain the excessive swatching!

I love uber dark polishes, so I tried layering a single coat of ‘Blue Gums’ over Nails Inc ‘Elm Park Gardens’ and fell in love!

What about using ‘Blue Gums’ as a base coat you ask? Well here it is topped with ‘Party By The Pool’, a peacock jelly with flecks of green and blue. Ahh the shimmer! The flecks! The loveliness!

‘Hot Summer Nights’ has to be the densest deep dark blue ever! It is a little on the thick side but still manageable without polish thinner. If you struggle with thick polishes though you might want to add a drop of thinner. The silver micro glitter shines through the heavy pigment though, a polish that really lives up to the name!

The two blues of the collection demanded layering together and oh my, the result was pretty special!

The one and only glitter is another blue, this time a micro glitter base with the perfect addition of teeny tiny copper hex glitter. I want to swatch this over every colour I can think of, but given how many pictures I’m already throwing at you I thought I’d stick to just two options, for now.

Apologies for the picture spam, this was the first swatch session when I had my new lightbox, bulbs and camera all set up!
‘Santa’s Sunburn’ might just be the perfect one coat fed foil, with heavenly and smooth silver flecks. Brilliant coverage, lovely smooth formula, shown here with one coat of Gelous.

And here it is! The super special, super limited, super gorgeous ‘Golden Ticket’. It’s kinda crazy with micro, medium hex and bar glitter (gold and holo I think!) in a gold base. I’m not going to lie, I don’t love bar (aka ‘disease’) glitter, I also don’t love gold. But hell, I love Pretty Serious, and without it there’d be a gaping hole in my collection.

Finally there’s ‘Seasonal Sunset’, a rusty jelly base with bright golden and copper microglitter. It’s a lovely formula and is prefect at two coats. I’ve swatched it with a single coat of Gelous, and then with ‘Twinkling Lights’.
