Polish Days July: Jelly sandwich!

Polish Days 'Jelly Sandwich' Swatch

Jelly Sandwich, Barry M ‘Bright Red’ and Nubar ‘Black Dots’

Welcome to Polish Days #2! I am so chuffed that so many lovelies have gotten behind Polish Days that we’re doing another one. Hopefully there will be many more to come, but for now here’s my Jelly Sandwich for Julys Polish Days. There’s a fair few pictures, and at the bottom you’ll find links to all the other lovelies taking part in this event.

My jelly sandwich was a tough one for me. I own an incredible amount of opaques, and many glitters, but very few jelly polishes. Summer in the UK is struggling to rear its head but the past few days have been quite lovely, so my jelly sandwich is inspired by summer fruits. I used 3 coats of Barry M ‘Bright Red’ , followed by 3 coats of Nubar ‘Black Dots’, 2 more of ‘Bright Red’ and then 2 top coats to give a super glossy jelly finish.

Aside from the immense number of coats I really loved this combination, and was staring at the jelliness when i should have probably been working. And while I am expecting amazing things from the other Polish Days lovelies, I’m glad I kept it simple as I like the non-sparkly look.

Love this Hannah, didn’t realise the Barry M was so sheer! It’s so hard to find jellies here in the UK.

Ladybug was the first thing I thought as well. Very pretty! :)

Gorgeous! But if I may give you a tip: next time, if you need more layers for the base to be opaque, already sandwich some of the glitter between those coats. It’ll give even more depth to it!

    • Polly

good plan, though the idea wasn’t to achieve opacity, just a good deep red jelly :)
