If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen that I posted a bottle shot of the OPI Color Paints (ugh it kills me to drop the U out) and I was really excited about these. Color Paints is a set of 8 jelly colours with a silver ‘canvas’ base. If I’m honest, I’ve not been excited about non-vintage polish of late. There have been some nice polishes, but nothing that has made me feel genuinely keen to pull out the nail art supplies and have a play. I’m so glad that this collection met my expectations; they’re incredibly fun to use and I’ve still got things in my head that I want to try that I didn’t get time to do for this post. So, on to the swatches…
I know, I know, it’s been a while. Lots going on outside the world of blogging for me lately, but I did swatch these around Christmas (as my nail length shows – they’re now pretty short) but have only just found some time to write a post for them! The polishes in this post are the offerings from Pretty Serious Cosmetics for the festive season of 2014, the Rooftop Soiree collection (fun fact: I mistype ‘roof’ as ‘foof’ every time).
While I might be allowing myself to blog without as much self-imposed pressure, Pretty Serious are one range that I will always make time for – even if that time is a little later than I’d have liked. Following up the beautiful Pinup collection of cremes are these bright and beautiful staple shades from Pretty Serious, the Brand New Undies.
It’s two-fer Tuesday! Sometimes samples arrive and they are so pretty that they jump the queue of backlogged polishes that need swatching. The new Pretty Serious Pinup Perfection collection arrived on my doorstep about 24 hours ago, so posting this quickly may be a record for me. The good news for everyone is that these polishes will be available tomorrow, well, today actually as 9am in Australia is the day before for us in the UK!
These pinup shades have been created around the ever popular ‘Hell On Wheels’, a brilliant bright red creme/jelly hybrid released a while back, and these five new polishes definitely live up to the standards set by ‘Hell On Wheels.’
Day four! Are you tired of my piCture pOlish week yet? Nah, didn’t think so, too many beauties to show you for anyone to ever get sick of it! This one is a bit of a random post. Susan over at Subtle Shimmer reminded about jelly sandwiches and I realised that I rarely do them. Yeah, I know, they don’t really gel well with my one-coater desires.
I think I’ve made it quite clear by now that I love Pretty Serious Cosmetics polishes. I really really really love Pretty Serious. When the Christmas Without Snow collection was released I was there waiting, clicking refresh like a mad woman. It paid off though because mine was the second order, which earned me one of the ten Golden Tickets! If you didn’t hear about those, Pretty Serious created a limited edition (ten bottles only!) gold polish that would be added as a surprise to ten of the first 100 orders that included polishes form the Christmas Without Snow collection. As I ordered the full set AND got the Golden Ticket I now have a perfect 7 polish set! So chuffed you wouldn’t believe!
I might have mentioned in yesterdays post, and on Twitter, and to anyone who would listen in fact, that I am very excited about the launch of Barry M’s new line of polishes. This brand has been going from strength to strength this year and while I’ve been moaning about how difficult it is to find jelly polishes in the UK the lovelies over at Barry M have been hard at work making exactly that. I have for you today ‘Prickly Pear’, ‘Blueberry’, ‘Blood Orange’ and ‘Watermelon’.
