Frankening by Makeup Withdrawal Bokeh in a Bottle’

A while ago I was drooling over some of her home made frankens and, the darling that she is, she very kindly sent me a few to try for myself. This is the delightful ‘Bokeh in a Bottle’.

Pretty stunning eh? This is one coat over nails inc ‘Hanover Square’ (I think), with a top coat. I think the name is perfect, and Mimi’s labels are so cute. I haven’t done any frankening yet myself and now I’m a little intimidated to give it a try based on what Mimi can create! Have you given it a go, got any success (or failure!) stories?

I’ve never tried frankening, althout I really want to for some time already! Unfortunately, it was not until yesterday did I finally find a mail forwarder, so I didn’t have access to any frankening base. Now I can order some and experiment ^_^

Two of my favorite polishes are those that Liz (my daughter/co-blogger) whipped up a year ago, on a lark. Their loveliness, compounded by their unique nature, make them a JOY to wear.

From the frankenee side, frankening is a lot of fun. That is, when the stars align and it comes out perfect for the frankener.

Oh, by the way….I’ve formulated a few frankens myself. Awful results. The stars were definitely NOT in alignment for that event.

As for Bokeh in a Bottle…it’s perfectly lovely (and the label IS tres cool).

I love frankening! I’ve had a few successes and a few failures… my greatest pride so far is my frankened dupe (I think) for OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I wanted the color, but can’t wear OPI as it doesn’t get along well with my body chemistry and chips off in five seconds. I just added a drop of black to a white polish. Straight-up white looks godawful with my skin tone, but that slight grey makes it work.
